Crossing Fire in Riverside County fully contained by firefighters
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. - A large fire broke out Tuesday in Riverside County, briefly sparking evacuation warnings for some of its residents.
What we know:
The "Crossing Fire" was reported near the intersection of Lower Ranch Road and Petes Crossing near Aguanga, California around 2 p.m. on May 20. Firefighters eventually contained the fire a day after it broke out.
According to Cal Fire, one outbuilding was destroyed, and two firefighters were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Firefighters worked overnight to control hot spots and improve control lines around the fire.
All evacuation warnings have since been lifted and the fire reached 100% containment a little after 4:45 p.m. on May 21.
What we don't know:
Officials did not say what caused the fire to break out in the first place.
